The Sand which is there

Technically, this is not really transparent, but just an optical illusion done by mirrors. Still impressive and creative, so worth a look. This creation by artist Phillip K Smith III was erected in Joshua Tree, California and titled "Lucid Stead". Quite impressive!

House of shards

They say people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, right? Well, if you want to try it out, you must first get a glass house, and why not go with this one?

Brick in the wall

There's an old saying about people living in glass houses, but living behind transparent walls seems somewhat...impractical, right? Well, with this "smart" glass, it can be as impractical as you want it to be. Flip a switch, and the walls become opaque! How awesome!

Let it sink in

We're getting close to having a complete bathroom that's totally clear, and this sink complements the transparent faucet from last week wonderfully!

Made for walking

The shoes I posted a few weeks ago were a bit of an exaggeration, with the high platform, but this pare here is a little more human. Goes real well with transparent nail polish!

Wet and wild

To complete your bathroom setup (in addition to the transparent toilet and bathtub), a cool and clear faucet is a must. How about this one?

Under cover

For those who liked the transparent toilette, but can't find a full piece, there is actually a wide selection of transparent toilete seats and covers. Here are a few:

for more, GOOGLE it...

Flush and blush

For most people, seeing their "creation" from above before flushing is more than enough, but for the true exhibitionist...there's really no need to flush, is there?

Weight of the world

Swarovski has thousands of different crystal pendants, figures, earrings, watches and other stuff out in the market. Heck...they even got keychains, pens, candlesticks and perfume these days. However, I feel their most beatiful items are the 40mm paperweights, like this one. What's unique about them is that the base of the paperweight is colored, and the refractive multi-facet of the "ball" like paperweight shows an incredibly beatiful rainbow of colors. Viewed in the right light, it's absolutely mesmerizing.

http://www.crystal-fox.com/index.cfm/40mm_Swarovski_Harmony_Paperweight_Archived_Data_4960.htm

***By the way, for those who want to spend less, Swarovski stores are now (Oct 2013) selling a smaller version of this, sized at about 3/4", in the form of a keychain. It's also pretty cheap, at around $15.

Keep it clear and clean

I wasn't going to post this, but then I learned that a lot of people never actually heard of Neutrogena soap, even though they've been around forever (and are considered to be one of the best soaps around). Perhaps this is because the cardboard box the soap comes in doesn't show the beatiful and transparent piece inside. There's an idea for you, Neutrogena...come up with a transparent packaging too!

Blow me down

Oh, how I wish there was a real transparent desert eagle to match my own chrome one (wouldn't that be a beatiful way to die?). That's never going to happen, of course, because no polimer can withstand the pressure of a 44 Mag shot. This nice BB (airsoft) replica, though, can ease the pain a bit.

Begged to be open

The crystal doorknow gives you crystal clarity any time you get into a room. The manufacturer has several other variations on this as well.

Brick and mortar

This is a rather unique lighting concept - the glow brick looks like a light bulb embedded in plastic, while in fact it's a glowing phospherous orb in an inverted structure that looks like a bulb. I actually have one of these, and it looks awesome!

Control Freaks

The Paramote, designed by Mac Funamizu is clean and sleek, and I really hope it someday becomes a real product. The magnetic charge station is also quite fantastic.

Rodent problem

Naturally, a clear keyboard is only half the job, and this mouse makes it well done...

Key to happiness

Most keyboards are ugly as hell, but even those that aren't, are still bulky and big. This little piece of tech is just the opposite...almost invisible!

Your biggest fan

While not technically transparent, the Dyson Air Multipllier's design is as close to that as possible. I actually have one on my desk, and pretty much everyone HAS to pass their hand through the opening to see if it's REALLY empty (and it is!)
Quite awesome tech, if I've ever seen one...

Heads up!

Transparency doesn't only LOOK good, in some situations it could actually save lives. When driving, looking away even for a fraction of a second could be dangerous, and so this Heads-Up-Display by Pioneer is both cool and safe.

The pioneer is a tad pricey at around $1000, but Garmin's solution might be a more economic option:

For $150, this unit connects to your phone via BlueTooth, and talks to Garmin's navigation software. Then, it beams the data onto a special transparent film that you place on your windshield.

Don't lock now!

You probably wouldn't really want people to be able to see-through your lock, and these beatiful and naked machines are actually designed for training purposes (for locksmiths). Then again...if you're a TRUE exhibitionist...

Take a seat

The Arthur transparent chair not only is beatiful, but also allows people to see how you look from beneath...like this cat:

Clear as cool air

This unique item finally answers the question "do we have any milk left" from across the room. This transparent fridge is, sadly, not a production item, and was built by Japan's National Electronics for use in an exhibition back in 2006.

Drive-through See-Through

With this car, you don't need to look out of the window to see the scenary...it's EVERYWHERE around you. You can even see your leaking oil through the floor. The only problem is that it's not a production model, but a one-time creation that you're not likely to see anywhere else. It was sold at auction for a tad over $300,000 back in 2011.

http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2011/08/01/transparent-ghost-car-sells-for-308000/

At 46 inches, this monitor by Orion is not only transparent, but also quite outstanding. It's also quite pricy at $2600. However, if you really look around, you can probably find some of their older models (like the 22" model, which should cost a lot less)

Stiff drink

Peky hails itself as the "first", but actually there are quite a few drinks which come in a transparent can-like container. However, it's still cool!

Bread-winner

While not completely transparent, this wonderful toaster allows you to see your bread as it toasts!

Can you hear me now?

The FH001 speakers by Ferguson Hill cost like a new SUV, but really...have you ever seen a transparent SUV? Nope! run buy!!!

Don't shoot!

This transparent version of the Nikon D80 camera was on display at the Photokina convention in 2006. Unfortunately, it's not a product that's for sale.

Another item in the telephony department...this is not an actual item, but a kit that can transform a regular iPhone to a transparent one. Sadly, it doesn't make the whole thing transparent, but the back-plate becomes a window into the phone's SOUL...

Here are other similar kits:

If you like transparent phones, but don't like the modern style, perhaps this vintage rotary bakelite phone will be JUST right...

Heal the heels

Looks like transparency can apply to clothing, not just furniture. Just steer clear of transparent bras.

The end to books

These blocky bookends are so awesome that looking at them leaves me no time to read the books.

Crystal Clean

A transparent bathtub risks people seeing ya'cooch, but it's SO worth it! AMIRIGHT?!?!

This is from Novellini (http://www.novellini.it). This model is called Cristalli, but they have many others.

Kill some plants

If you're into plant-killing, might as well stuck them in a nice vase. While most flower vases are made from glass, rare are the ones with this level of beauty:

Show me the light

With these acrylic candlestick holders, I can't wait for the upcoming winter's power outages!
(this is an eBay item, so it will probably be gone by October 2013)

Clear as Coffee

The only thing missing for this clear coffee table is transparent coffee...which seems kind'a scarce...

Cozy Byte

This guy took the transparent case concept one step further, and setup a tiny and super-cozy living room right inside the case!

See PU

This transparent computer case is not only beautiful, but also allows you to see the motherboard and other components in all their glory! (just make sure you clean the fans and filters often, so it doesn't get full of dust)

Who washes the washers?

Watching laundry getting spun around is positively mesmerizing. Too bad this model isn't for sale.

Feat of Engineering

This engine model is so beautiful, I only wish they made it 100% see-through.

Doorbuster Sail

What's the point of sailing if you can't see the water? With this canoe, you can see the water ALL over!

Phone it in

Some of you may remember that there was a time when Telephones were attached to walls. This telephone doesn't have Angry Birds or Email, but it sure is beautiful!

Tape it up

When wrapping gifts, what good is clear tape if the dispenser isn't clear? Amazon can help:
